Chang Thai

The service was good, the ambience is pretty standard - booths with paper napkins. It is very casual in nature. There were more takeout clients than dine in.

The food was excellent, they nailed the 2.5 star not being overly spicy. We really enjoyed the pad thai, I know it is such a basic dish but they did it well!

Great atmosphere with a lot of ventilation and fans. The waiters are attentive and very kind.

We got garlic chicken and pad thai. Everything was fresh and the spiciness was spicy! Happy that they listen to the stat spice levels.

This restaurant is family owned and has comfortable vibes. They were playing light jazz and the Sunday night crowd was chill.

We recently moved to Oakbrook and this restaurant is less than 1/2 mile from our house. For a neighborhood restaurant in a shopping center, there is so much variety in their menu. I'm a adventurous eater and was happy to discover their duck, lamb, and seafood dishes. I typical go for the Thai hot 4/5 spice level and it's just right for me. My spouse is not quite adventures and there are plenty of options. The 3/4 has quite a hit. The service is is very tentative and it only takes about 10-15 minutes for most dishes. Because we live close, we order everything to go. However the ambiance is typical of a local neighborhood mom and pop restaurant, very homey. I highly recommend

Great Thai food and what I think is a smattering of Chinese food. The menu has expanded and changed a bit since my first visit years back, and has improved and now has some really outstanding dishes. I loved the Swimming Rama with chicken, the curries, all the curries, and the brown rice. The spouse gets white rice but the brown is some of, if not the best, brown rice I've had at a restaurant. The pot stickers were tasty but no ho on the egg rolls, but flavorless and soggy. Cost is up due to - you know. I will say an entree can feed two. So buy 2 and share so you have left overs.

Service: slightly above average

Kids menu: no but plenty for them on the regular menu.

Great Thai food! Quick service and the food is always really at designated pickup time.

Here's my breakdown of Chang Thai:

Service- quick and attentive
Thai Iced Coffee & Thai Tea- great! Neither were too sweet nor heavy on the cream, but rather nicely balanced with sufficient coffee and tea flavor coming through
Pad See Ew- I've definitely had better pad see ew elsewhere, but it wasn't bad by any means. Just a bit on the salty side and lacking depth in flavor (but maybe that's because they refrain from using MSG?)
Tom Yum Soup- yum! Generous portion of noodles and the soup was quite delightful in taste and texture
Prices- pretty standard prices for a thai place... expect to pay an average of $12-$14 for entrees

Not feelin the love from this joint. Must try another local Thai spot. Pork overcooked, spicy without the taste, just red peppered! Ordered out.

We have rediscovered Chang Thai and love it The food is excellent as is the friendliness of the staff zthe cleaning supplies at the entrance are not a welcome sight but we overlook that for the food especially the Orange Chicken
